COZY CONDO FOR TWO
Living Room & Dining Room Design
Not another pandemic related project? Yes, yes another one! We were stuck in our houses 24/7 which made us analyze and agonize over every. single. little. thing. We were bored. We were online too much. We needed something to do that was creative and fun. We wanted to SHOP! We finally had TIME to think about our homes.
I’ve always encouraged family and friends to invest in their homes. It’s where we spend the majority of our days, it should be enjoyable & beautiful and somewhere we are comfortable. Why wouldn’t you put your hard earned dollars there? Too many times I’ve heard “I don’t know why we renovated the house to sell it, this is SO much nicer and now we don’t even get to enjoy it!” Yes, why did you? You would’ve been so much happier cooking in that shiny new kitchen. You would’ve relaxed and enjoyed that bathroom more if it was exactly the way you wanted it. You would’ve been more comfortable if you just bought the dang sofa! I get it, money is a huge factor, but it shouldn’t always hinder your well-being if you’re able to make the changes.
This lovely couple wanted to give their dining room & living room some personality. Wife worked remote long before the pandemic and she was finally ready to take the next step in creating an inviting space for herself. A self proclaimed “bat,” she wanted some mood and color in the space. I’m all about that moodiness and coziness, so sign me up! Needing the design and vision, but wanting to execute on her own time, we were able to give her a beautiful design that she was able to put together when she felt financially ready. Redesigning a room can be expensive, but she took the first big step in investing in a design and she couldn’t be happier.
We first want her to swathe the dining room walls in a beautiful deep green hue. A cozy, soft rug under foot in the dining room pulls in those greens and grounds the room along with the black dining table. We lightened the space with smaller scaled, caned back chairs that let’s the room breathe and a large mirror on the wall will help reflect light and create a sense of more space. They had a brand new sectional in the living room, so we updated it a bit with a nice, dark, chunky coffee table, new (correctly sized) rug and lots of fun and colorful pillows. Comfy and cozy indeed!
