KENSINGTON SPANISH COLONIAL
BATHROOM DESIGN
A family was in need of a design for their Spanish Colonial home in the cozy & quiet corner of Kensington. The client really wanted to make this bathroom more bold & modern, to have a little fun with it, but we also wanted to make sure it still felt a little traditional. We came up with a design that incorporated lots of textures with the striated & textured wainscoting tile, a 90 degree herringbone pattern on the shower walls (to give it a modern twist), Spanish style encaustic tile for the shower niche and of course, arche! The hit of the maximalist wallpaper in the toilet area gives this bathroom the flair it needed and brought together all the colors of the space with additional pop. We rearranged some of the plumbing to give this bathroom better flow & function and plans to rip out the bathtub to create a large, private shower.
This is the bathroom that all the family members use, so storage and privacy was important. The layout and design came out really fresh and super functional and I can’t wait for them to be able to make this design come to life!
