LUCILLE BUNGALOW

A charming 1950's bungalow tucked away by the canyon in Talmadge received a dramatic kitchen renovation & dining room redesign for a very deserving and sweet family. Mom & dad had been waiting 15 years to do this project and have recently been working tirelessly on weekends to invest in updating their tired, outdated, and drab kitchen & dining room, so we needed to get this right the first time!

 

With an initial tight investment amount and a couple honest chats later, the couple knew they had to invest more to get their desired outcome. And with the economy the way it has been (2022 inflation!), they knew they had to spend the extra money to be able to have the dream kitchen they've been envisioning and wanting. With that, we were able to splurge & save: splurging on custom cabinetry, the fun, geometric tiles, and the dining room credenza then saving on some of the light fixtures & furniture. The two spaces still feel custom and high end, so don't be scared to mix high with low end!

 

Both working as school psychologists, which can bring on some bad energies, they really wanted clean, modern (specifically MCM- midcentury modern), and fun spaces with pops of color that would make them happy every time they were in them. I’m proud to say we delivered! They couldn’t be happier and I’ve been told there is always a smile on their faces when they enter their new rooms. We kept the blues and woods throughout so the two rooms were cohesive, calm, and pleasing to the eye while introducing pops of oranges through both spaces & the geometric, dimensional tiles for texture and warmth.
