MOHAWK HAUS- Pool Edition

Some babied their sourdough starter, some adopted new pets or plants, and Dalgona coffee was a Tik Tok sensation. And we all Zoomed, WAY. TOO. MUCH. Our family, however, remodeled our pool (insert surprise emoji here)!

 

WOW, was this was a huge undertaking that was totally unplanned because it was so unexpected. We had resigned to the fact that we'd have a barren backyard for a few years so we could get the house in order first. But when Covid hit the US and we started lockdown in March of 2020, my husband got sick of looking at the backyard from our downstairs room/my office, turned his office. It wasn't inspiring to say the least and when you're stuck at home unable to go anywhere, looking at a brown and concrete backyard is kinda depressing.

 

Long story short (one day I'll do a blog post), we got all the things done and contacted who we needed to get this project moving. It was hectic, it was stressful, and there were SO many decisions. Not totally unlike a home renovation, but there was still a big learning curve where you have to know some of the standards in pool design and building. We also made several adjustments to the existing spa and additions to the pool. My brain was fried! At the end of the day we LOVE it and are so happy we dove in (pun intended) and got this project done. It really was the right choice, especially because the boys and all our friends kids are at the perfect age to enjoy it for a while, too.

 

There is so much more to do with the backyard, but we are so happy looking at the beautiful blue water instead of a brown deserted landscape!
